Samsung is reportedly working on a new flagship Galaxy Tab S6 tablet. With rumors starting to pickup we want to lead you through some reasons why you should, and maybe shouldn’t, wait for the company’s new tablet to arrive.
If you’re in the hunt for a new tablet in July, you’ve got a lot of options. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S4 is still a solid choice. The flagship was recently upgraded to Android Pie and it’s a lot cheaper than it was when it launched last year.
These devices should be on your radar while you hunt, but you should also take note of Samsung’s rumored Galaxy Tab S6, a new high-end flagship that could arrive later this year.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Rumors
We don’t have the big picture yet, but it sounds like the device could be solid competition for the Galaxy Tab S4 and the iPad series.
Originally, we thought the device would be called Galaxy Tab S5. However, it looks like Samsung will call it the Galaxy Tab S6 in an effort to differentiate it from the Galaxy Tab S5e that launched earlier this year.
According to GalaxyClub, Samsung is currently working on tablets that carry model numbers SM-T860 and SM-T865. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab line typically uses the SM-T8xx standard for its model numbers which means these two could be the new flagships.
Beyond that, we don’t know too much about them. We’ve heard the base model could ditch 64GB of internal storage. We’ve also seen benchmarks hint at a new processor and a ton of RAM. There’s also a good chance the new models run Android Pie instead of Android Q.
While some of you might not want to hold out for Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy Tab, others might want to wait for more rumors or for the device itself to arrive.
The Galaxy Tab S6 probably won’t launch July, but we could see the new models launch later this year, perhaps alongside the Galaxy Note 10 in August.
With that in mind, here are the best reasons to wait for the Galaxy Tab S6 and the best reasons to go with another tablet.
Wait Until August
The Galaxy Tab S6 launch probably won’t take place in July so you’ll probably have to wade through a few more weeks of rumors and speculation before Samsung takes the stage and shows it off.
A launch date isn’t rumored yet, but there’s a chance the company debuts it in early August alongside the Galaxy Note 10.
The Note 10 launch is confirmed for August 7th and there’s a chance the Galaxy Tab S6 joins the new phone on stage during the show.
A report from CashKaro claims the Galaxy Tab S6 will arrive sometime in the third quarter of 2019. Q3 spans from July to September.
Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S4 in early August back in 2018, ahead of the Note 9 launch, so the timing makes sense.
The LTE version of the Galaxy Tab S6 recently picked up an important Wi-Fi certification which means the official release is getting close.
If you don’t have time to sit through a few more weeks of rumors, or your budget won’t allow you to wait much longer, you should start looking at other devices.
However, if you’re interested in a top-of-the-line Android tablet, you might want to hang around for a few more weeks because the Galaxy Tab S6 launch is almost here.
