FCC to Review Carriers’ Anti-Robocall Efforts at July Event

The Federal Communications Commission this summer will examine mobile carriers’ efforts to crack down on robocalls by improving the accuracy of caller ID information.

Agency chairman Ajit Pai announced that the commission will host a July 11 event to review major mobile carriers’ progress at adopting uniform industry standards for caller ID authentication. The standards, known as SHAKEN/STIR, make caller ID information more reliable.
