OnePlus announces Android 10 rollout for the OnePlus 6/6T and 5/5T

OnePlus has already deployed Android 10 and the newest version of OxygenOS to the OnePlus 7 family, including the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. The newly announced OnePlus 7T/7T Pro also come with the newest software out of the box.

So where’s the update for some older OnePlus devices?

Good news is that you really won’t have to wait too long. OnePlus has announced a beta and rollout schedule for their last couple generations of phones, and the beta for the OnePlus 6/6T family is available this month.

As you can see, the open beta for the OnePlus 6/6T is happening this month, with the official rollout happening next month in November. That’s a pretty quick rollout from the last round of updates.

The OnePlus 5/5T situation is a little foggier, but still not bad. The beta program won’t be happening for that batch of phones, probably because they’re a little less common at this point and most of the bugs should be fixed that far in. But the update itself will be available in Q2 of 2020, which slates it somewhere between April and June of next year. Again, not a crystal clear timeline, and the delay isn’t fun, but at least you know when it’s happening.
